Joan Donner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is president of Twende, LTD, a Colorado- and Nairobi-based company that leads and coordinates safaris in Africa. She has been active on a number of boards and committees in the Washington area, including the Smithsonian National Board, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the James Smithson Society.
