Biography
As director of brand management and communications, Annalisa Meyer leads enterprise-wide marketing, communications and public affairs strategy for the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. She oversees integrated media, digital, content and stakeholder strategy and engagement efforts that expand global reach, strengthen brand visibility and drive audience growth, visitation and philanthropic support. Meyer leads a multidisciplinary communications team that translates complex science into clear, compelling narratives that position the Zoo as a leader in animal care, research and global conservation.
Meyer holds a Bachelor of Arts in visual media from American University and is a graduate from the Smithsonian’s Palmer Leadership Program and the recipient of national honors for excellence in communications, including a PR News Platinum Award, Public Relations Society of America Silver and Bronze Anvil Awards, an Association of Zoos and Aquariums Marketing Award and a Bronze Clio.
